GROOVED ROCK - GLACIAL ACTION
A GLACIER has moved from right to left over this rock in former
times. Stones embedded in the base of the glacier have ERODED
grooves in the rock. Finer rock particles in the glacier bed have
polished the rock. Tufts of grass manage to grow in small cracks
in the otherwise barren rock. For a superb small-scale example
of this feature, don't miss image L79.
