RUINED TIN MINE ENGINE HOUSE, CORNWALL, UK
Like hundreds of similar ruins the Cornwall region of the south-western UK, this abandoned Tine Mine engine house is a relic of a former age. Beneath the ruin is a mine shaft (hopefully securely capped!). The building housed a BEAM ENGINE that was powered by STEAM generated by burning the FOSSIL FUEL, COAL. This and other devices lifted miners and ORE from underground and kept the mine dry by PUMPING water out.
