IGNEOUS DYKE INTRUSION
The black line running up the face of the mountain is a DYKE. The black rock was once hot and molten and was injected into a crack fissure in the rock under great pressure. Dykes are common features in areas that have had a history of VOLCANIC ACTIVITY in the past.
