IGNEOUS DYKE INTRUSION
The black line running up the face of the mountain is a DYKE.
The black rock was once hot and molten and was injected into a
crack fissure in the rock under great pressure. Dykes are common
features in areas that have had a history of VOLCANIC ACTIVITY
in the past.
