ERODED ESCARPMENT
Two rock types stand out in the ESCARPMENT or CLIFF. The upper cliff face exposes a strong rock that is being WEATHERED and ERODED by the elements - RAIN (occasionally), FROST (seldom), HEATING & COOLING (often) and CHEMICAL ACTION (some - when it rains). These processes also attack the lesser rock face in the lower part of the cliff. DEPOSITIONAL SLOPES can also be seen where rock fragments accumulate below the cliff faces.
