INCLINED STRATA EXPOSED BY COASTAL EROSION
Formerly horizontal, these layers of rock or STRATA have been steeply titled by earth movements in the geological past. Now exposed to attack by pounding waves and CORROSIVE sea water, these rocks form steep cliffs at the edge of the land and the Atlantic Ocean in County Kerry, Ireland, Europe. Rocks fall to the beach where wave action grinds them into smaller and smaller fragments - BOULDERS, PEBBLES and SAND GRAINS.
