RIVER CANYON CUT THROUGH HORIZONTAL LAYERS OF ROCK
The Colorado river has eroded a CANYON over 1000' (300m) deep.
Layers of strong and weak rocks and SCREE deposits can be seen.
The water is clouded by the SEDIMENT - rock dust. The sediment
on either side of the river is a different colour. Look at image
L5 for the reason why.
