COASTAL EROSION - INCLINED STRATA
At the edge of Europe where South West Ireland's County Kerry meets the Atlantic Ocean, the interplay between LITHOSPHERE and HYDROSPHERE is evident. The steeply inclined beds of rock (STRATA) are vigorously ERODED by WAVES and are CORRODED by the salty sea. Large masses of the land have been separated from the mainland by erosion and now form the distant ISLANDS. CLOUDS demonstrate the essential link between ocean and ATMOSPHERE in the HYDROLOGICAL CYCLE.
