DEBRIS FLOW
The mass of jumbled gray rock has been deposited upon the red rock by a violent and catastrophic event. Probably the result of FLASH FLOOD, a mass of coarse boulders and smaller rocks have been carried along and dumped in a chaotic pile. Flash floods are extremely dangerous naturally occurring events in arid regions where there is little vegetation cover to absorb and slow torrential downpours of rain.
