STONE BUILT ORATORY
This remarkable structure was probably built over 1000 years ago as a place of worship here in County Kerry, in the south west of Ireland, Europe. The stones are local SANDSTONES and have been carefully chosen to make a good fit. No cement has been used. Each stone fits perfectly with the other stones around it. The building makes a very good example of the use of local rocks as building materials. Contrast the relatively unweathered appearance of these stones with this in image L51 in the regolith.com library.
